Jupiter's Travels

I'm just starting another motorcycle book on loan from English Stephen's personal library. Stephen is a pretty meticulous guy and always makes a note on the title page of when and where he read the book. The note in this book was just too cool not to share. Flathead Rob, DC-3?

Ha! - both right - the mythical 'aeroplane' is mostly my memory of a DC3 with an improved rudder shape - a la 247 :-)

Looks like Steven also borrowed the elliptical planform from a Spitfire. The artist in him intuitively knows that the elliptical planform minimizes induced drag. This is of course important if one is to fly across the pond...
