Crocker OHV Scout Conversion

I've made it publicly clear I have a bit of a thing for the Crocker 101 Scout OHV conversions. Every so often I have to torture myself with a Google search or two.

1950 Chevy 3100

Do you have money to burn on that shop truck that is a little different? This 1950 Chevy 3100 on a full NASCAR chassis might be just what the doctor ordered. Be sure you budget for tires too.

CHiPs

The show CHiP's cycled through some pretty weird cast changes during it's run. I can't lie, as a motorcycle obsessed little kid I was pretty stoked when Bruce Penhall joined the cast. On Any Sunday II had already made me a pretty major fan.

Try as I might I can't remember when H.R. Pufinstuf joined the department though. I would have expected him to have some challenges passing the CHP drug screening...

Seattle Cossacks Lemay Marymount 2016

My family and I made the trek down to Lemay Marymount Motorccycle Week 2016 for Father's Day. Great event as always. The featured motorcycle this year was Indian and it was quite well represented. The historical exhibits were awesome as usual and I even got to help a little with one. The motorcycle soccer was a hoot and I met some really cool people. Strolling through the entire car collection with both my Mom and gearhead son gave him some real world insight to living with those cars he might never have otherwise had. Great day all-in-all.

I see enough Seattle Cossack shows in a given season that they can start to seem a little routine. This was a pretty exceptional show. Those guys are really kind of BAMF's. When was the last time you rode 2 pre-war Harleys at once? Or jumped a few friends on your Dad's beautiful restored Knucklehead? Thanks to Jeff Earle for these unbelievable photos. There were a couple of wonderful nods to Cossack father's too. Jimi Wright performed in his father's uniform shirt. Captain Sam did the flaming board crash with team-member/son Zack on the back. Look closely, you'll find him. That board crash was f%$king nuts this time around!

Route 66 Revisitied

A posted this old photo recently and suspected it had been taken on Route 66 East of Albuquerque but I couldn't quite nail down the exact spot in my head.

One of my East mountain dwelling friends recognized the location and sent me an unsolicited present day shot. So cool! Thanks Matt, I appreciate it more than you know.

Dunlop Legacy - Isle Of Man TT

For any that may not have seen it "Road," a film that chronicles the Dunlop family road racing legacy, is well worth checking out. Narrated by Liam Neeson, Road is the dramatic and poignant story of two sets of brothers from Northern Ireland who dominated road racing for over thirty years. Two generations of one family that have been united by success and united by tragedy. The trailer can be seen here.

Having seen Road I couldn't help noticing this past week that Michael Dunlop both won the Superbike class and set a new lap record at the Isle of Man TT. Congratulations to Michael. A rider's perspective of Michael's record setting lap can be seen below.

The Isle of Man is a legendary event with an unparalleled history but the 2016 event resulted 4 fatalities, one of which delayed the start of Dunlop's own record setting lap. There have been 250 fatalities in total during the life of the Isle of Man event. Road gives perhaps the most insight I've seen into the mindset of those for which the incredible risk is somehow justifiable. It's amazing but I can't quite relate to it.

Triumph T100RR

Another gem from British Ironworks Brian. This is the first T100RR (...maybe second I think Jeff Decker has an unrestored one) I've seen that wasn't  in a 60 year old photo. This one is in the Mungenast Museum in St Louis. I guess I need to add that to my museum tour list... I LOVE this bike!!
