Kingsford Ford Connection

I just recently learned Kingsford charcoal was a company started by Henry Ford in order to better utilize the lumber scraps generated at Ford lumber mills cutting stock used in automobile manufacturing. Pretty fascinating.

I recently stumbled across a new Jalopnik podcast called the Tempest Podcast. I've listened 3 or 4 episodes now and I think it's well worth a listen. Check it out.

Parts is Parts

From Rob: What’s really cool about the old motorcycle hobby is when 60 year old gaskets bounce around multiple mechanic’s spares stashes or tool boxes, and then they show up unsolicited in the mail, and finally get installed where they were intended to be. I know, it’s a few silly gaskets, but there are good people in this world. Thanks, Tom.

Pretty cool.

Highland Highschool

Highland Highschool - 1953 (my alma mater). The school opened in 1949. An incredible amount of growth and development apparently happen in the area between that maiden year and when I came along.

Southwest

I’m guessing this photo may have been taken in Santa Fe NM. Anyone positively recognize the location?
