Albuquerque Dragway

These old photos so remind me of the dragway as a kid. I never went to the races legitimately but used to ride up to the strip from the Big Dig pretty regularly. Every race I ever saw was from behind a chain link fence.

Rudolph Brothers Indian

Bill and Norman Rudolph with a load of surplus Harley WLA’s.  The photo was taken in September of 1944. Maybe my bike is one of the bikes in that load. My brother Rob’s ‘48 Chief also has known Rudolph Brothers Indian ties.

Seattle Motorcycle Club

Don contacted me recently and shared this photo of a Seattle Motorcycle Club pin he bought. The pin is thought to be the only one still in existence. The Seattle Motorcycle Club was one of the earliest clubs in the Pacific Northwest, starting in 1909. They were very active and ran a number of long distance reliability runs.

Thanks for sharing Don.

Start ‘em Young

My two year old nephew has got the bug. I suspect it’s genetic. Going forward, I’m sorry Lauren for any part I may contribute to all the laundry, cooking utensils that disappear in the garage and engine rebuilds on the kitchen table you may have to endure.

Ouch

Pandemic

Seattle bon vivant and amateur photographer Max Loudon took this photo featuring his Indian Motorcycle during the 1918 pandemic. His sister Grace Loudon McAdams, second from the right, perches side saddle amidst masked friends on a Third Avenue sidewalk half a block south of Washington Street.

This is not mine but it’s too cool not to post.
