Humble Pie - Rock On

Hmm. Apparently if you stack people high enough you have to use Unit Triumphs for a base rather than pre-Pan HD's.

Pan

This pic pops up on forums from time-to-time. The model always reminds me a little of Syd.

Package

I got a fun package in the mail today, just a couple weeks early for a birthday gift. Thanks Mr. Stromberg. Well worth the wait!

Several of my friends have been speculating it would arrive with "Princess Jewelry" written in perfect gold leaf script across the back. I'm more than a little relieved it didn't.

Chance, our neighbor's dog, helped just a little with the last photo.

Flat-Out

Velocity Stack

A boring post for myself, thinking out load really. I'd still like to try running velocity stacks rather than the stock air cleaners, with a duel carb bike they stick out and are kinda in the way when I ride. Looking at some like these.

Clearly open velocity stacks in the desert are a dumb idea™ so I've been bouncing around some make-shift filter ideas. It occurred to me that a lot of the SCCA guys used to run covers on their Webers kinda like these.

The mouths on stock Webers are 2 ¾". The mouths on stock Amal stacks are 2 13/16". Maybe they'll fit.

Part# 99008 927 2 ¾ - Small screen covers to fit 44/48 IDF and IDA 45/48 DCOE w/ steel stacks.

These Pierce filters may not even be all that restrictive.

DCR Ride

The DCR had a ride scheduled with the Pharaohs Scooter Club today. I was gearing up to meet up with them when it started to snow. I decided to bag it. Looks like the ride went off in any case. I'm so sick of the weather being crappy on the weekends.

Joe Abbin

I stumbled across this picture of Joe Abbin's blown flathead recently. Joe wrote the book on blown flatheads, seriously. Joe helped me track down a Filcoolator for measurements etc. when I was looking for an oil tank. Nice guy.

Fresh Grease

You may be thinking, not much fricken bike building go on around here anymore. If so, you might want to see what's brewing over at Flathead45's (hmm, Flathead45 might might not work as a handle anymore either).

Beezer Racer

Madrid

Rather than hitting CAD this weekend I rode with some of the Duke City Rockers and Norton Mike to Madrid NM. Good time. My camera took a dump. Luckily Jeff snapped some pics.

Interior Design

Hmm. Pretty sure Joey is gonna be totally into this idea for our living room.

Shirt

Flathead45 sent Vaughn a new MC shirt a couple of weeks ago. Fits great. I had some technical difficulties and unfortunately was only able to get one photo.

I saw what that shirt cost at Lucky Brand. Clearly Vaughn is the favorite nephew. Thanks!

1955 T100R

I'm pretty sure I've posted pictures of this T100R before but today I found the motherload!

'31 VL Bobber

Poached from today's BikeEXIF. I think I posted a different pic of this bike once before but it's still cool.

Bob "Hurricane" Hannah

Received a few comments about Bob Hannah. Bob retired from motocross and transitioned into racing a 500 mph P-51. Roger Staubach just bought part of a NASCAR team.

King Kenny

When all the other kids were into Pete Rose, Roger Staubach & Terry Bradshaw I only cared about Kenny Roberts and Bob Hannah. For the record I had it right. I guess Yamaha did too.

1938

For some unknown reason I keep finding myself looking at Harley U/UL pictures today. Paint scheme, taillight, toolbox. I love this bike!

500

Wow. This is my 500th post. Maybe it's time to quit...
See. It's the Fonz on a 500, get it? Nevermind.

Wingnuts On Salt

Damn. Looks like I'm gonna have to help Four Aces fund their Bonneville efforts again by sheer virtue of them having an irresistibly cool t-shirt. I feel so conned.

Wiring

I'm no fan of doing wiring... maybe I've just been approaching it the wrong way.

1938 Knucklehead

OK, I know everyone is gonna beat me up and take my lunch money for saying this but when I hear about people paying $35K for a Knuck I kinda don't get it. Knuckles rule but that is a ton of $$$. Still, this one I kinda see...

Cafe

I seem to have a pretty serious cafe fetish this week.

Bultaco

Too cool. Poached from some pics of of the San Diego Mods VS Rockers last weekend.
