Honda RC166

The absolutely insane Honda RC166 6 cylinder 250cc racer. Grand Prix racing was dominated in this era by two strokes by Honda was largely the 4 stroke hold out. DOHC, 24-valve inline six-cylinder engine, the 250-class RC166 roared its way through six open megaphone exhaust pipes at 18,000 RPM. Crazy days.

More From Riders 2017

Jeff Earle, president of the VME, posted some nice photos from the Riders Show. I'm posting them here too since I didn't get photos of a lot of the bikes that were there.

Earle's BSA

From the Rider's Show, Doug Earle's 1951 BSA B33. I don't remember the exact story but I believe the bike originally belonged to a friend of Doug's Dad who raced it. Doug's dad Dick later bought it from him. It's now Doug's. It's sits as built in the mid/late 50's and Doug rides it all the time. Perfect down to every single part. I'm dying to get a photo of my finished Pre-Unit project next to it.

The photo came from the Rider's Show Instagram. I don't know who to credit for the photo but it's stunning.

Rider's Show - 2016

Flathead Rob, Vaughn and I made the trek down to the Rider's Show today. It was relatively small (about 25 bikes). I'm having some phone problems and missed at least 1/3 of the bikes, all the customs/choppers. It was a really good show but the weather was nice enough I really wished I was riding instead...
