GeekBobber Swag

I recently considered making up some GeekBobber stickers, not for any promotional reason or anything but just for the hell of it.

I'm not sure I've ever mentioned the significance of the name "GeekBobber" to anyone before. When I first decided I'd like to build a bike it seemed so opposed to the culture of my "day job." There has been some element of motorcycles and wrench turning pretty much my entire life. That's however almost never the case for other people that work in IT. If IT people do ride, they just don't get why you'd want to ride an old bike. At that point Flathead Rob and I were still living in different cities and I felt like there was almost no one in my everyday life I could talk to about the idea that would "get it." At that same time the folks on forums were getting all religious about what was and wasn't a bobber, to the point where bobber had just about become a dirty word no one would use under any circumstance anymore. Something about about the fact that the people immediately around me were oblivious to why someone would build a motorcycle and the surprise that the people who actually understood were spending so much energy trying to prove they weren't dorks (instead of building motorcycles) sort of struck a chord with me. It just stuck.

So I recently decided to try to put something together. My wife is a professional graphic designer but this time I wanted to try to do it on my own. The hope was to merge aspects of my "day job" and my vintage motorcycle passion. Ultimately it has proved to be just as challenging as it is in real life sometimes. I may never come up with something I actually like enough to have stickers made up but these will give you the idea.

If you thought you might have any interest in a free sticker let me know!
