Varnish

V was wondering why the throttle wouldn't turn. I've never seen carbs quite this trashed.

Swap Meet

I went to the swap meet at PJ's Triumph today hunting parts for the Hollister Project and accidentally came home with a cafe project of my own. 1977 Suzuki GS 400. Oops. It's supposed to be for my wife. She doesn't seem all that convinced yet.

CB500/550

I've been wasting a little time lately looking at CB500/550's. The number of these bikes you see with like 4000 - 8000 original miles is just crazy. I remember an older retired man in the neighborhood I grew up that had one. He meticulously maintained & polished it but I don't think he ever rode it off our street. I could never figure out why... despite even directly asking him. It was completely unfathomable as a kid really into motorcycles. In any case such bikes always make me think of him.

My wife's favorite color is orange and I keep seeing nice ones in Flake Sunrise Orange. Makes me think it would be cool to build a mild cafe that ties in the stock tank and paint scheme.

I stumbled across this tail section built Kott Motorcycles. I'm not too crazy about the overall shape but I like the way the stockish paint scheme was tied in.

No real plot or plan. Just posting pictures so I can find them again if I ever want to.

Jesse James Personal Toolbox

A friend of mine pointed out Jesse's personal toolbox is listed on eBay. The questions section of the listing is sort of amusing to read through. Seems like Jesse is probably personally responding.

Pan

I must admit, I kinda like the looks of an SU carb on an HD.

Dime City Cycles

Dime City Cycles is getting quite a bit of press from their participation in the Discovery Channel Cafe Racer series. I like their Manx quite a bit.

About the Cafe Racer series. Something about the Rocker lifestyle thing strikes me as lame/poserish. Dress up and pretend... seems a lot like LARPers. To each their own I guess.

Brit Bike Motherlode

Visiting colleges in Eastern WA with Jimbo. I have a habit of picking up the local "Little Nickel" equivalent in hopes of stumbling across that $2500 1936 Knucklehead ridden only to church by a little old lady... Hey, a guy can dream, right?

So we're in Pullman WA, and I see this ad for an auction in Lewiston ID for vintage British Bikes and Parts. Yeah, I would say there are some parts!

You might consider posting this on JJ. Auction is at 10:00am on 5 November.

'47 Flatty

Lifted from Magneto Zoo. Call me crazy but I almost think I'd rather have the right BT flatty over a Knuck.

Flake Sunset Orange

Sag Wagon

From JJ. Matt Olsen's Sears being transported on my favorite non-participant bike at the at the Cannonball. The guy riding it was cool as hell too.

Sporty

I'm not the biggest Sportster fan but THIS is how you build 'em!

ASCII

Sometimes I worry my non-geek friends don't understand just how big a geek I am. Maybe this will help.

VL/Knuck Project

Cool. I found my next project. All I need is a $500 Knucklehead engine to drop in it. JK

Finished project should look a little like this. Piece of cake. I should have all the fab and paint completed this weekend...

Photos

The mom that does stunning game photography for T's football team took some bike photos for me after a game. Some of them came out pretty nice. The detail and clarity in the full size images is unreal...

Parking Lot Paradise

I thought Flathead45 might be interested in this post.
