I stumbled across another Matt Olsen blog today. Pre1916Scramble. Content is both his Sears build for the Cannonball MC and the AMCA giveaway bike. Both bikes are supposed to be unveiled at Sturgis so they are close to fully baked. Cool stuff.

Tunnel of Love...
This one is especially for Norton Mike, although it could just as well be an old Triumph or Harley... If you haven't already seen this, you really need to.

Lowbrow Salt Flats Bonneville
Lowbrow Customs is getting ready to take a bike to Speed Week for the first time. I really want to make it there someday.
Triumph? Motorcycle of choice for French Resistance...
I stumbled across this photo last night; it tells a whole story to somebody with an imagination. Might it be a WWII Triumph?
"Dateline Normandy: French Resistance fighter comes to aid of wounded dispatch rider... After making quick field repairs to the Tommie's iron steed, the enterprising but exhausted Frenchman manages to escape the pursuing stormtroopers, and safely slips through enemy lines to get the warning to General Eisenhower just in time. When asked if he wants a hot meal or some coffee, he replies, "Non, just a croissant and half a liter of 80-wt sil vous plais... I must get back to the war..."
C@D Report
Liv failed the Seattle test this morning. Made it up there but she stalled out in a downpour near Tijeras on the way home (about 20 feet from an overpass, it nice to ride a bike with some life experience). Lesson learned, rain and velocity stacks are not a good mix. No damage done but I need to throw the stock air cleaners back on the next time it looks stormy. Thanks to my understanding spouse for the rescue.

Porsche 550 Spyder
I ran down to the Rock n Rod Riot car show today. Pretty sizable event just getting setup when I got their. They had blocked off Central the length of the Nob Hill district with carnival stuff, a couple of stages for bands, etc. The weather turned seriously south right as I got there so I didn't stick around long.
The toddler seat in this Porsche 550 Spyder made me smile. Pretty car.
There were some cool cars there. Wish I had a little more time to look around.

Training Wheels...
I took the Sprite to the All British Field Meet today. There was only one motorcycle, a pre-unit BSA with a plunger rear suspension, but I missed the opportunity to photograph it.
I did see these really cool "Mogs". This first one is a 1934 Morgan "Super Sport" (I wonder if Chevy paid royalties on that name in the sixties...)
I have no idea how one would get into this vehicle with the top up... The engine is liquid cooled, and appears to have atmospheric intake valves and "hemi" heads. JAP made motorcycle engines also.
And this one is a 1937 with a flathead engine... This one was apparently recently featured at Pebble Beach.

UL Parts
Being a good brother and all I'm always on the prowl for Hollister parts. I checked out this posting on "the Bay" and kinda freaked out a little. Am I just old or is something about this a little creepy?

Parts hauler for triumph?
Since Bitmonkey started the big engine theme, thought I would share this one...
I thought it would be good for hauling Triumph parts. Since my normal shop assistant is out of the country, I had to draft an import from NM to help work on an original HD taillight that Cap'n Sam donated... Two of AA's finest ('80 and '12) joined forces to safely disassemble it with original glass lens intact. Pix on 38HDU tomorrow.
