Bob Budschat - Ducati

Bob Budschat - win on Sunday, sell on Monday.

Between racing and running a Ducati dealership Bob had both ends covered.

Seattle Cossacks - American Pickers

Seattle Cossack Hall of Fame Inductee and Lifetime Seattle Cossacks Member #96 "Papa" Dave Eady will host American Pickers Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz at the Dave Eady Motorcycle Museum. The episode premieres tonight on the History Channel.
Season 17 Episode 5 - "My Sweet Ford"

UPDATE - The History Channel lists this as "Season 17 Episode 3." All the major TV providers are listing it as "Season 17 Episode 5." I think 5 is correct but I guess it depends on if you are searching for the broadcast or to watch it online.

There's a viewing party tonight at the Lighthouse Grill in Des Moines WA at 9:00pm.

Buddy Elmore

Buddy Elmore. Damn I love those pipes. A long time Triumph rider, Elmore's 1966 Daytona 200 win was the inspiration for the Triumph Daytona model.

Terrace Drive-In Albuquerque

Terrace Drive-In Albuquerque, NM. There is zero physical evidence I may have been smuggled into this theater in the trunk of a car as a little kid. Good times. The theater was located on Central Ave East of Wyoming Blvd. Grand opening October 18th, 1951.
The same spot was once home to the legendary Hell's Half Acre 1/2 mile dirt track as well. Last I checked the Southern end of Hell's Half Acre was still visible via Google Earth.

Seattle Supercross 2017

-=SPOILER ALERT=- Seattle toyed with the idea of turning the Supercross track into a quagmire all week. 500 truck loads of dirt and 6,000 man hours went into the track. With some creative tarping on an incredible scale and a little mercy from mother nature on race day the tack was actually dry!
I always wanted to go to a Supercross race as a kid. For some reason Bob Hannah wasn't racing last night.
With concerns about weather the pits were moved indoor this year. The teams were really shoehorned in and it was CROWDED. I was hoping to get Justin Barcia's autograph (he's one of the few major current riders I am missing). This is the closest I came.
Vaughn is always excited to check out Ryan Dungey's digs. The 25 bike of Marvin Musquin actually went on to win. Going into the race Ryan Dungey and John Tomac were only 4 points apart in the championship race. Incredibly they ended up tied and will both be running a red plate at the next race in two weeks!

The Legends and Hero's display did not have the space to set up there traveling museum trailer but they were represented. The 1980 Yamaha YZ125 below actually belongs to Lyle Lovett who is a huge vintage MX fan.
This Monark was built by local Monark authority Mike Budschat and belongs to Scott Wallenberg.
I was a little bummed to hear Roger DeCoster had been roaming around the Legends and Heros area earlier in the day and I missed him. So much to do at these events...

I got to hang with my entire family at the race, even my big kids who live near the stadium. Thanks to my wife for getting front row tickets. All in all it was a pretty fantastic day!

Bluebirds MC - 1938

This is the "Bluebirds Motorcycle Club," which roared up and down the streets of White Center, Burien and all around the Northwest for years. The Eyers family photo was taken in front of a Gilmore Gas service station just north of the Triangle Tavern at Roxbury and 16th Avenue in White Center.

According to lifelong resident Chuck Eyers, the Bluebirds were nicknamed the "Gunnysacks," as an inside joke in deference to the larger, more organized Seattle "Cossacks" motorcycle stunt and drill team also founded in 1938.

The group, which included Chuck Eyers' father and mother Charlie and Ella Eyers (second from right,) rode their matching Harley-Davidsons to rallies on the coast and attended meets around the state through much of the 1930s. Ray Swanberg (3rd from the right) owned the Mobil service station just across the street from this location.

Does anyone recognize the three gentlemen on the left side of this photo?
