Roadster

Vaughn was just asking me if roadsters ever had roofs. Probably a more common sight in Flathead Rob's neck of the woods.

I am so jealous! I doubt either of my sons have ever even used the word roadster in a sentence, let alone took an interest in details...
Okay, that's it. I am officially starting my vintage flathead speed equipment collecting so V can show up for his driver's test with a similar jalopy. Lessee...

Merc flattie? Check.
Ford trannie with Lincoln Zephyr gears? check.
Edmunds manifold? check.
Wonder what it costs to insure a 16 year old driving a vintage flathead roadster?

Von show's up in an oldie and there like Kid do you even know how to shift this car. He's going to be like me sitting a harley shop with my Dad's 55'Pan with all the old guys around saying this is that and so on, but they will be wrong. Von will stand up and explain everthing about the car and they will look at him like who's this kid and how does he know so much about this car. Von wll be like its my car Jack-Ass I built it with my Dad! Then their jaws drop and think wow this kid is really cool!

To further prove Vaughn has the hot rod genetic mutation, no one is ever gonna build a car FOR him. I stepped in to help him build something with Legos this morning (he was about to go postal). Don't worry he was sure to give me very clear and continuous direction.

I took V up to a friend's shop in Cedar Crest last weekend. He ended up finding an old bucket in a stream and Brian suggested he take it home. Every time I go in the shop now he pulls it out and continues to "work" on it. I'm pretty confident he's either gonna restore it (it's got serious rot) or he'll end up building an entirely new bucket using the old one as a pattern. I asked him, he's not even sure what the finished bucket is for. As I see it the kid is already cursed.

Obviously it's for a "bucket" seat! Duh!
