1946 Velocette GTP 250

Anyone who really knows me knows I'm an absolute sucker when it comes to two stroke motorcycles. The sound, the smell, the everything. The just rule. I had the pleasure today of riding a 1946 Velocette GTP. The bike recently passed from one friend to another. The two of them have been friends for years and years. I've always just wanted to hear the bike run. I got to ride it to. I wasn't disappointed. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that motorcycle. The video is not of the actual bike but I had to post a video so others could hear. Incidentally bike I rode is a one or two kick bike unlike the one in the video. The other

Another crazy aspect of the bike is has an automated oil injection somewhat like many of the Japanese two strokes had in the 70's. If you look at the carb closeup in the video you'll see a metal rod moving in sync with the throttle. That's the injection mechanism.

One of the previous owners of this bike was Paul d'Orleans of Vintagent fame.
