Salt Ghost

OK, I know I've posted a lot of pictures of this bike already. Jon Glover took some amazing photos of the bike at Bonneville this year. There's some entertaining discussion about the bike going on over at JJ too.

Bonneville seems like the only remaining motor-sport largely devoid of huge commercial ties. I can't get over how cool that is and wonder how much longer it can possibly last. I kinda feel like I have to get there to see it soon before it's all destroyed by the Discovery Channel, Red Bull or Calais.

In the case of the Bonneville racer I know personally, the amazing thing is that a guy with no corporate sponsor; just his own ingenuity and hard work, can be as successful as he is there. Pretty cool.

As much as I like history, we shouldn't forget that somebody is out there right now building the machines that others will admire from "back in the day..."

Love the blog, I've been reading through the archives all week and came across this post. I appreciate the link and the comments. Salt Ghost is a rad bike and was great to spend the week with Wes and Tyler and getting to shoot it.
