Check out that air brake. IIRC a similar air brake setup was used on the infamous 1955 Le Mans disaster car. Burning magnesium is tough to imagine unless you've actually seen it first hand before.
The Bonhams episode was followed by a motorcycles only edition of Mecham's. If the televised Mecham's auctions were always motorcycles exclusive I'd watch way too much TV.
