Here are some cellphone pix of your slimline tank. Please look them over and let me know if you see anything that concerns you. It has very slight surface rust in places inside the tank, but no danger of rustout or clogging lines, I don't think. Not perfect, but definitely workable, if this is the right tank. Chris said this tank was from '66-'70. Bung threads, emblem threads, and filler neck are all in nice condition. Might be some small patches of filler on the outside, but you probably won't know until it's sanded.
On the steering damper, Chris only had the handle/threaded rod part. I got that. You will have to find the washer pieces, the friction disks, and the nut on the bottom.
