Evel

I was mildly annoyed while watching the coverage of Travis Pastrana’s Ceaser’s Palace fountain jump that they keep inferring to how Evel always used big heavy American v-twin jump bikes. I suspect he was really only concerned with performance. In addition to the XR750’s he used Triumph TT’s, Laverda’s and others. 

Jolene Van Vugt was there to support Travis the day after Vaughn and I met her in Seattle at Dirt Fish.

Also, by no means do I intend to minimize what Travis did but Mike Metzger actually did a backflip (on a motocross bike) over the fountain in 2006. Daredevil’s have evolved a lot over 50 years of embracing Evel’s legacy.
