GS Coda

After nearly two years I'm now willing to call the GS400 done (as much as any old bike is ever done).

This is what it looked like when I brought it home.

I bought the bike with the idea I'd build something civilized enough my wife could ride it. The initial purchase price was low and money was tight so I planned to build the nicest bike I could build with a total budget of less than $1000. I was confident given enough time I could substitute lots of my "free" labor for a lack of money (and some good friends help). This is the finished product.

It's not perfect but I won't be devastated if a learning rider drops it either. Can you tell my wife's favorite color is orange? She has unsure about it all in the beginning but she's really psyched about it now!

A huge thanks is warranted to Flathead Rob and English Stephen. Rob sacrificed most of a Christmas vacation home in the garage helping me with fabrication. Stephen provided the inspiration, grunt and everything else required to see it finished. I can't thank you guys enough. It feels absolutely great to have another completed project.
