Color

I was screwing around with the GIMP (think Photoshop, only FREE rather than $700) today trying to test some paint colors. If you kinda squint when you look at it... it still looks like shit. I'll have to see if I can get Joey (an actual professional) to help me.

That said, any opinions based on these?

First, this is a cool way to test colors. Secondly, I really like the turquoise. That's actually not too far from the color of my car.

Ironically, I also like the orange that your original tank faded to. If it was all one color instead or partly red, that's cool too,

That light blue reminds me so much of my Dad's old Bultaco! Personally, I'd go for pink with some sweet Hello Kitty decals. Just throwing it out there.

So is being reminiscent of a Bultaco a good or bad thing? What model Bultaco did he have? If your Dad is so cool why are you such a putz?

It was a 250 Alpina. My Pops was quite the trials rider back in the day. Reason I'm such a putz? I "accidentally" inhaled a LOT of WD-40 in the garage when I was a kid. It smelled good.

Only one vote for each login, but I got opinions from the familia...

From Jim: Turquoise

From Brandon: Dark Blue

From Lynn Dark Blue, but she wants to see gold...

I gotta admit the blue is growing on me. Just don't use Cobra blue. That's overdone.

The blue I've been considering I was not able to replicate with GIMP very well. Something like Toyota's Nautical Blue.

Watch for a late model Scion, Toyota or Honda in a parking lot, photos don't really do it justice. Looks almost black in some light.

If I had to $$$ for gold leaf copes and pin stripping etc I'm not sure it would even be a dilemma.
