Born Loser Born-Free Update
Tiger Update
Ever have several days of working on something where you feel like you are effectively sweeping the same pile of dirt around and around the floor? I've pissed away more time than I care to admit this week trying to sanely extract the primary side main bearing from the from both the case and crank without damaging anything. I won't bore you with details but it's been an ordeal. Well I was working on other stuff too I guess...
I finally got the bearing free of the case and tried several methods of removing it from the crank. I was pretty certain the spline end of the crank was galled based on how hosed the splined collar was that came of the funky primary drive shock absorber doohickey thing (English term). If you compare the piece to parts book diagram it looks like the retaining lip just snapped off.

I talked to Justin about it this morning and he basically said "Quit f-ing around and cut the damn thing off" (to be accurate he did recommend a pretty surgical method). You don't have to tell me twice.

I don't know how well you can see it in the photo but there's a pretty serious lip on the inbound set of the crank splines. That bearing would have never moved.

I've also spent gobs of time cleaning and detailing parts. If I had access to a media blaster it would go much faster but I'm still trying to save $$$ for parts. It's coming along slowly. Here's a tease.

I'm hoping to get the frame in for powdercoat this week. One of the parts I'm missing is the original tank mounting brackets. I considered making something but they carry a fair amount of weight (I think the tank is 4.5 gallons). The original pieces are quite beefy. I bought a front mount on eBay.

I'm kind of anxious to have a roller again.

UK Hot Rod
I've said it before and I'll say it again... the hot rodders outside the US are kicking our ass.
They just get it. This car looks like it was entombed somewhere for 50 years. No bullet holes, barbwire or even an LS1 motor. Nothing ridiculously excessive. If this car has ever been on a trailer it's because it was good and broken from being flogged.

1320 Feet
I wish I could show this bike to the next guy that is all snarky about Olivia being "too stripped down and barren" because she doesn't have heated grips and a stereo. The same guy's wife usually chimes in that the seat doesn't look very comfy either. Why is it people with loads of built-in padding always seem to think they need lots of additional padding?... I digress.
Stressed member frame with incorporated fuel/oil tank. Pretty rad. How much would my neighbors love it if I ripped that up and down the block a couple of times a week?

T100 Dyno
Ever notice the Internets can piss away lots of time if you aren't disciplined? Supposedly each T100 sold came with a Heenan &Froude BHP test certificate. Here's an example.

Here are the results of Flathead Rob's HD 45CI run. I bet Triumph was more willing to horse whip their T100's than Rob is willing to shamelessly kick his faithful old dog. Something tells me the dyno calibration isn't a one-to-one match either.

1952 Thunderbird
I've been digging around a little looking for closeups of the toolbox, battery box and some of the other pieces I'm missing. The pictures I found of this '52 Thunderbird are kinda cool. I'm not sure if the brochure cover is from is from '52 but I thought it fit well here.
