CAD Report

Not too much in the way of vintage exotics at CAD today. "Bottomless Projects" Tommy swapped his Triton for the '73 Commando today, of course it too is super tasty and completely bad ass. My apologizes for the shitty cellphone pic, it's remarkable reminiscent of a Vincent in person. Like all of Tommy's stuff it's got a million cool details, check the primary cover for example. Witness Knucklehead Steve's continued brainwashing into a Brit bike guy below. I see a Speed Twin somewhere in his future.



Some of the CAD "elders" were posing for pictures with our bikes today, probable proof it was a slow day... I broke a throttle cable about halfway home and limped back by reaching over and pulling the broken cable with my left hand. Beats walking or calling your wife in the middle of a World Cup game.

V and I later dropped by the Greaser Roundup but got the time wrong. There were only about a dozen cars left. He's still pretty good car show company.

Carb Woes

My bike ran pretty much like a top coming back from Santa Rosa last weekend. When I first got back into town I did notice it seemed to be hesitating under heavy throttle, I initially wondered if it might be bad gas or something.



Over the next few days the problem continued. I checked wiring, changed plugs, check battery voltage, check spark, etc. Check fuel flow, float bowel filters, etc. The more I thought about it the more it seemed like incorrect Main Jet symptoms. It sorta defied logic but last night I decided F-it, I'd try stepping up the main jets one size. When I pulled the float bowel I discovered one of the main jet seats had unthreaded about 3/8". The shit that can rattle off an old bike never ceases to amaze me...
