Econoline

My dad had a Ford Econline pickup we affectionately called the “Dorko.” I was never a fan. I know they are “cool” now but I’m not buying it. It did get my dirt bike to a place I could ride it, I loved it for that. That said this, is the closest one ever got to being cool.

Below - my brother Rob’s first motorcycle a 1971 Kawasaki 125, the first motorcycle in our family my 1974 Yamaha GTMXA 80 (which I still own), the “Dorko” and my Grandparents. Such a great photo!

Geekbobber's memories of our Econoline (a.k.a. Dorko) might be clouded by the fact that as the smallest kid, he was frequently "assigned" to sit on the "center" seat, a.k.a. the engine cover. With the mighty 144 c.i.d. six toiling away underneath him in the Albuquerque summer heat, it may not have been the most comfortable ride...
