Emma Update

So, as of today the old girl is fully insured, titled and registered. Not a very exciting post for you maybe but I'm pretty damn excited. The wiring is all done and sorted too (save the Speedo light, meh). Might be a little easier to get the engine broken in with it legal to ride. It snowed today and my calender is kinda filling up after work. Tomorrow maybe. I have a couple of leaks to resolve too.

It's not registered with a '51 plate but I had to post some kind of picture. New Mexico '51 plates seem to run about 10x what a '51 from any other state costs. Maybe it's time to move...

Commando

I can't really say why but Commando's have never really floated my boat. This is about as nice as it gets though.

Patina

This one is for English Stephen.

Check out this fine machine. Someone parked it on the wrong side of the road...

T100R

There's a nice T100R post over on Greaser Mike's blog. I just discovered his blog recently. He's building a pretty sweet Triumph I can't wait to see finished.

I've had a Triumph nostalgia problem for quite a while now but getting Triumph Motorcycles in America recently has made me down right obsessive. I've been like "You know Bill Johnson had a cheeseburger for lunch in Pasadena on Tuesday September 17, 1940..." My whole family is now reflexively responding "Ah, that's nice... now STFU."

Weekend

I spent a load of the weekend trying to get the Tiger fully roadworthy.

It's just ridiculous how long wiring can take when you are dealing with oddball connectors and trying reverse to engineer all the missing bits. I need to track down some weird threaded setscrews for the kill button, all the 6 volt bulbs, headlight and pilot light bayonet connectors and a 6 volt battery.

I'm ready to stamp this thing done and ride rater than wrench for a while.

Olivia Tank Mounts

First, I'm worried there may be a leak near the broken rear tab. I guess I'll build a pressure rig to test the tank. I totally praying I can pull something off without completely destroying the paint. Anyone ever tried this stuff? I welcome any other clever ideas anyone might have.

Fuck.

Idle Hands

I think I may have posted this Gary Griffin photo of Trent Schara before. Trent's a great guy and has done some flawless welding for me in the past. The paint on my Olivia was also an amazing prize from one of the GZT events he organizes.

Trent posted this tattoo on JJ yesterday.

Apparently Trent knew nothing of the tattoo until he found it somewhere randomly on the Internet. Kinda weird to have your hands tattooed on some strangers back. Just bizarre.
