Daytona

Anyone else ever look at old photos and think the current generation is lame? Daytona wasn't always about HD's and doo-rags. Maybe I just need to watch Ben Spies work a little more.

HoBo

Hollywood Bobbers. Sure have heard a lot of crap about Bruce being a flake. Crazy how similar all their bikes are.

Paint Update

My paint samples should have shipped today. John mixes color and paints samples on aluminum cars he then sends in a shipping tube. Stoked!

Wheels Through Time Raffle

I'm telling you as someone who has had ridiculous raffle luck... Don't dick around... Buy a ticket! The odds are WAY better than the lottery and the bike is cool.

FDR Ride to Skate

From the Ride to Skate event. I thought this pic of Joe Zito's bike was kinda neat. I think they added some airbrush shading to his paint, maybe it was touched up after his crash last year. I don't like it as much. He added cocktail mufflers too.

Fender

I've been thinking about paint for the fender too. This T100/R pattern is really typical of lots of factory Triumph's. It might look cool with the rib leafed and striped. The bottom pic is a T100 similar to the post below.

PAINT!!

I've been kinda geeking on pin striping. Both black & gold seem like they'd work. Here are a couple examples of gold.

John mentioned the idea of baby blue pin striping a while back and it's kinda growing on me. Triumph used it from the factory on some of the early T100's.

The contrast between the light & dark blue might look sorta cool next to the gold. (No ghosted flames, I promise this is just to illustrate the contrast).

Lots of old race cars with similar paint schemes are striped with red but it's a little loud for my taste.

Wing Nuts Sweaters

From the Wing Nuts MC blog, comments about wearing the club new sweaters to a bike show "for the first time I stood next to a Gold Wing wearing my Wing Nuts sweater. That will never ever happen again." Too funny.

Big Twin Flathead

I was geeking out to flathead porn for a while today. I LOVE this red bike.

CAD Report

Slow day at Coffee at Dawn today. Only one other Brit/vintage guy today, Larry. Larry has a handful of interesting bikes/cars, all mechanically sound but unrestored. He has a '66 BSA I really like just because it is so untouched. Today he has riding a '63 Matchless 650 twin.

He has an MGTD and an Austin saloon as well. We got to talking about Brit cars and vapor lock problems today. He seemed kinda stoke to have someone to talk cars with for a while. He told me his TD is still running a starter he found laying in the road 20+ years ago. Watch out when you are in town Flathead45;)
