Tenino post-mortem

I did make it to Tenino on Sunday... I had to leave Nate behind because he was too busy advancing his Hollywood career on the Speed Channel. It's okay, I forgive him! Remember us small people when you get famous, Nate!

Unfortunately I found out that rather than the two-day event advertised on Craigslist and elsewhere, it's really only a day and a half... so I caught the last vendors packing up at lunchtime

The Harley ran flawlessly, save for two minor sputters - one when the nut attached to the handlebars inadvertently closed the fuel shutoff momentarily whilst trying to keep the knob from rattling off, and the other when climbing a steep hill with the tank close to empty - a quick thinking rider (forewarned by the earlier faux pas) switched the fuel to the reserve tank. In other words, DSU errors in both cases.

I think I covered about 180 miles on the Harley Sunday. Highlight of the day was chatting with another tardy arrival riding a 1939 Indian Chief. We staged a brief reenactment of the Harley vs. Indian Wars, in which I declare victory because his didn't start on the first kick, and mine did!

I am currently debating the feasibility of participating in the Isle of Vashon TT, which I think is next weekend. I am worried about being run down by some crazy fool on a Bonneville... Man, I wish Geekbobber was here.

Man, I wish I was there too!

Damn, no Pinks report from Nate.

Hopefully Nate had a chance to discuss the intricacies of clutch and throttle control with Rich Christensen
